Anxiety & Nutrition

Hi, I’m Michaella, a recovered FMS patient and award winning registered BANT Nutritionist.

I have a video focusing on the link between Mental Health and Nutrition for you. Here is a small blurb for you to read about it:

Our bodies are complex, unique and open to influence with what we eat. Certain foods help and hinder the nervous system and can make symptoms of anxiety and insomnia feel worse. Learn how to support your mental health with how you eat in this exciting free talk. You will learn:

• How your nervous system works – What it is and what it needs to function well.

• How food impacts mental health – Which foods can help with feelings of calm vs anxiety

• Foods and drinks which support / optimise mental health

• How to build / improve on a positive relationship with food

About Me

I’ve sat at both sides of the appointment table, first as a patient and now as a healthcare practitioner.

I didn’t care about my health until I got sick. Years of partying, poor diet, stress and drinking eventually lead to developing a chronic pain condition that impacted every part of my life. At its worst, my husband had to feed me water from a bottle because I felt too exhausted to do it myself. I had constant pain and tried everything to feel better, from medications to oxygen tanks and everything in between.

As a last ditch effort, I decided to cut out processed foods for one week and see how I felt. To my amazement, much of my pain decreased and so began my journey to recovery from chronic pain to good health.

I became passionate about the role that diet can play in disease development and recovery. I decided to get a qualification in nutritional therapy across London and Edinburgh and graduated with distinction. I then set up my own clinical practice so I could start helping others with chronic pain and all other areas of health. You can read my full recovery story here.

I am a registered member of BANT which is the leading professional body of Nutritional Therapists and requires members to follow a strict code of conduct, ethics and continuous professional training, I am also a registered member of the CNHC.

Alongside my clinical practice, I write recipes for magazines and brands as well as corporate talks.
